Lighting With Style
Hanging a light over a dining table? IDS designers recommend that your fixture should generally be at least 12 inches narrower than the table and hang a minimum of 30 inches above the table's surface to avoid glare and collisions. Adjustable downlights or wall lights provide another layer of illumination that fills in the empty spots.
High-tech compact fluorescent lamps (CFLs) with a screw-in base turn conventional pendants into energy-efficient lighting that is better for the environment--and your pocketbook, too.
